Winifred June Bendel

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Huntsville Hospital on Saturday, January 18, 2025, she was in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Emile Bendel (June 6th 1987). Cherished mother of Stephen Bendel of Burks Falls, Yolande Bendel of Katrine and Tony Bendel of St. Thomas (Susanne Robson). Proud grandmother of Crystal Lynn Boyd, Jason Scott Boyd, Connor Raymond Hesse & Luke Robertson-Bendel. Extremely loving Great Grandma to Myles Raymond Hesse, Molly Lynn Hesse & Wynter Lilly Irning. 

Winifred & Raymond came to Canada from England in 1965 with their two children, Stephen & Yolande. Tony was born shortly after arriving in Canada and they settled in the Mitchell & Stratford area. The family would like to say a very huge thank you to Stephen for giving up his career in Toronto and moving in with mom to take care of her for the past 3 years. We have no doubt that mom is so proud of what you did for her. We all cannot express how much we are going to miss you. The trips to Wal Mart, Coffee time at Timmies and just driving around because you wanted to get out. 

Cremation has taken place at Forest Lawn Crematorium. Arrangements entrusted to Opatovsky Funeral Home- Dempster Chapel. If desired, donations to your local Animal Shelter would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Mom also loved her pets. From cats, to dogs to budgies, she had them all. Sleep well mom. Hope you know, we loved you very much and everyone of us, will miss more then there are stars in the sky. In her 96th year…. What a life Lived! To send off mom properly, play Tracy Byrd’s song… “Keep of the Stars”. That was mom’s favorite song and meant a lot to her.
