MRS. VERTA SARARAS Formerly of Burk's Falls Peacefully at Eastholme Home for the Aged in Powassan on Friday December 27, 2013. Mrs. Verta Sararas was in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Alvoy Sararas. Dear mother of Linda Whitehead (Wilfred) of Ingersoll. Cherished grandmother of Martin Brown, Sherry Sararas, Tammy Shular (Trevor) and Honey Daniels (Richard). Great grandmother to Jordan, Katelynn, Miranda, Brittney, Alisha, Haydin, Jessica, Valerie and Nathaniel. Great great grandmother of Daniel and Tyson. Verta is survived by her sisters Barbara Botham and Myrtle Pruner and will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Sunday December 29, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Sararas will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 2:00 p.m. on Monday December 30, 2013 with Pastor Rick Callery officiating. Spring interment in the Burk's Falls Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
