THOMAS TEKAVCIC of Sundridge Peacefully at home holding the hands of his loving family, Tom slipped away quietly on Wednesday morning after a determined and rapid fight with pancreatic cancer. Stunningly kind, strong, passionate and gentle to his last breath, he was sent away with whispers of watching the first snowflakes of each year from the canoe, espressos in the garden abundance, crisp afternoon snowshoes to watch the bends in the Magnetawan River and long, loud, laughter-filled dinners rich with old and new stories and good soup. A deeply honest, wise and optimistic husband, father, son and friend, Tom has quietly and humbly enriched so many lives so monumentally. Beloved husband of Penny Stoker and loving father of Maya and Chloe Tekavcic. We have truly lost a strikingly curated source of wisdom, devotion, integrity and comfort. What a man. Penny, Maya and Chloe invite you to a colourful celebration of a beautiful life at the Caswell's Hotel from 2-4pm on Friday October 7th. Tom felt so passionately about the environment and would be honoured to be the inspiration for donations to the David Suzuki Foundation, or an environmental organization of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.
