MRS. SHIRLEY JANETTE BRANDT (nee Smith) formerly of Burk's Falls Mrs. Shirley Janette Brandt passesd away quietly after a long battle with Alzheimer's at Leacock Nursing Home in Orillia on Wednesday December 17, 2008. Shirley is the beloved wife of Roy Lewis Brandt who is also residing at Leacock Nursing Home. Beloved mother of Patricia Hodgson and Douglas Brandt (Ruth). Nana to Brian (Michelle), Glen (Kristy), Michelle and Mark (Christine). Great Nana to Ciera, Mya, Trent, Kieryn, Alexander and Noah. Shirley Janette is the daughter of the late Emily and Neil Smith. Dear sister of the late Anne Sedore (Doug) and John Hugh Smith (late Marge). She will always be fondly remembered by good friends Christine and Sharon Brandon. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Saturday December 20, 2008 from 11:00 am until time of service. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Brandt will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday December 20, 2008 commencing at 1:00 p.m. Spring Interment in Burk's Falls Cemetery. Reverend Doctor Walter Winger officiating. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer's Society, your local animal shelter or the Hospital for Sick Children would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
