MR. THOMAS WILLIAM RUFUS McAMMOND (of Sundridge) Peacefully at the Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville on Monday November 29, 2010 in his 95th year. Rufus McAmmond, beloved husband of Irene (nee Saunders) of Sundridge. Dear father of Donna Hoffman (Norman), Marilyn Hall and the late Lenard McAmmond. Loving grandfather of five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Cherished brother of Dorothy Ireland and Fletcher. Predeceased by his parents Nathaniel and Mary, brothers Forest, Morris, Ross, Gordon, Murray and sisters Emma and Jean. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends in the area. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel 9 Paget street Sundridge on Friday December 3, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Rufus McAmmond will be conducted in the chapel on Saturday December 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Rick Callery officiating. Interment Strong Cemetery, Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
