ROBERT A. SAUNDERS Of South River ROMANS 8:31-39 With grace, integrity and dignity Bob peacefully went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer at the Hospice Huntsville on Saturday October 13th, 2012 at the age of 64. Loving husband of the late Esther Saunders, he will be sadly missed by his children Christina Baird (Jeff), Trevor Saunders (Beth) and grandkids Hayden and Mason. Cherished brother and friend to Audrena Verheye (Erwin) and Paul Saunders (Melanie) and their families. Dear brother-in-law to Miriam Brubacher (Dennis) and Murray Martin (Yvonne) and their families. Survived by parents Bert and Audrey Saunders. Bob will be fondly remembered by extended family, friends and neighbours. After moving from Orillia to South River to enjoy retirement life, Bob and Esther travelled all over North America visiting friends, making new ones and helping others along the way. Bob was up before the sun every morning to put on a pot of coffee and watch the sun come up. He could never sit still for very long and loved doing anything outdoors; snowmobiling, cutting wood, constructing outbuildings, back-road drives and camping, lots of camping. He also genuinely enjoyed helping others and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it, whether it be by lending an ear, a book or helping with physical brute strength; he was always dependable. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Wednesday October 17, 2012 from 7-9 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Bob Saunders will be conducted at the Knox Presbyterian Church in Sundridge on Thursday October 18, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with the Pastor Murray Russell officiating. Interment at the Wattenwyl Cemetery in Lount Township. Special appreciation and thanks to the Palliative Care Team, the many nurses and doctors that travelled along this journey with us at the Huntsville Hospital and Hospice Huntsville, CCAC and VON. If desired and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Huntsville or the Huntsville Palliative Care Team would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
