RAY ALFRED LAPLANTE of South River Suddenly and peacefully at his home in South River on Friday May 26, 2017 in his 74th year. Ray Laplante, beloved son of the late Jeanne and late Omer Laplante. Dear brother of Rita Stone (Gerry) of North Bay, Bernadette McConnell (Dennis) of Niagara-on-the-Lake and predeceased by brother Rene Laplante (late Pauline). Cherished uncle of Danny, Dwain, Steven, Shawn, Paula, Michael, Kelli and 11 great nieces and great nephews. Fondly remembered by his other relatives and many friends from South River and Sundridge that he acquired over the years. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 9-11 A.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Ray Laplante will follow in the chapel at 11:00 A.M. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in North Bay at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
