MR. NORMAN RICHARD MINOR
of Lount Township
Peacefully at Nipissing Manor in Corbeil on Monday February 15, 2021. Norm Minor, beloved husband of Fern Minor (nee Bullied) was in his 84th year.
Loving father of Max Minor (Earla) and Crystal Minor.
Proud grandpa Norm of Aaron Guthrie (Hillary), Ben Minor (Rebecca), Angela Onuluk and great grandpa of Jaden, Chloe and Jackson Guthrie; and Evie and Mia Minor.
Cherished brother of Erna Parkes (late Charlie), Hilma Harkness (late Doug) and Karen Mumford (Don).
Predeceased by parents Walter and Edith Minor, brothers Harvey and Dave Minor, and sister Ruth Detta.
Fondly remembered by the Lount Township Community, his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Norm was a man of many hats. He was a custodian at the high school for many years, a farmer, worked in highway construction and for Toughs Mill, made maple syrup and plowed many driveways. He loved his church, to dance, hunt and enjoyed opening his basement to community dances and get-togethers. He was generous with his time and would help anyone in need. Norm was a good friend to his community and the Cheer Lake community and loved his family.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a service for immediate family will be conducted at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Christian Schweter officiating. For those wishing to attend virtually a Zoom link will be available by emailing a request to ofh-mc@bellnet.ca by 3pm Friday February 19, 2021.
Spring interment at the Deer Lake Lutheran Cemetery in Lount Township.
If desired, memorial donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Magnetawan, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
The family is very thankful for all the staff at Nipissing Manor for their care and compassion through Norm's time there.
