MRS. MURIEL THORNE (nee Acton) formerly of Emsdale Peacefully at The Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge on Monday March 29, 2010. Mrs. Muriel Thorne was in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Henry Thorne (2005). Dear mother of Diane Ronan (Peter) of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Susan). Proud great grandmother of Tyler and Spencer. Muriel will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Friday April 2, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Thorne will be conducted at Emmanuel United Church in Emsdale commencing at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 11, 2010. Reverend Doctor Dorothy Wilson officiating. Interment of cremated remains in Emsdale United Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
