MARION "MARNIE" WALLACE
Of Eagle Lake, South River
At Eagle Lake on Monday, June 10, 2019. Marnie was in her 73rd year.
Daughter of Edna and Johnny Breen, niece of Chesney, Ethel and Elizabeth (Bess) Quirt, honourary niece of Janet Shupe, cousin of Pete Sagert.
Marnie's larger than life personality will be missed by her cousins Ian Quirt and Sandra Sagert and their loved ones, by Ian's daughters Katy, Maggie and Janice and their families, and by her friends, including Marion and Glen Taylor, Rosemary Riley and Lois McLaren.
Many thanks to the wonderful people of Eagle Lake whose assistance helped Marnie live independently in her later years: Henry Adema and his family, Nancy, the McLaren family, Christine, Gary and Brian.
The two great loves of Marnie's life were music and animals. If you have ever walked down Quirt Road and heard the strains of an opera playing at an impressively high volume, or a tumult of dogs barking, that was likely Marnie and her menagerie. Before her retirement, Marnie ran an animal shelter, taking in assorted abandoned animals from near and far, and from 1984 to 2016 she was the organist at John's Anglican Church.
A service to celebrate Marnie's life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 1175 Scarlett Road, Eagle Lake on July 13, 2019 @ 1 pm. If desired, memorial donations to St. John's Anglican Church or an animal shelter of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
Arrangements entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.
