Lawrence Nickle

MR. LAWRENCE NICKLE of Burk's Falls Lawrence Nickle, born February 28, 1931, died on January 3, 2014. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art, Lawrence has since 1949 lived his life painting landscapes of the Canadian wilderness in the plein air mode of the Group of Seven. For the last four decades, he worked from studios in and near Burk's Falls, Ontario. He is survived by sons Peter and David, grandchildren Tobin and Noah. Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls and a service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be announced at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lawrence's name to the Hospital for Sick Children.
