With heavy hearts, but loving memories we announce the passing of Judy Coalter. After suffering a brief illness, Judy passed away with her family by her side in Barrie.
Since moving up north 12 years ago and making the cottage their home, Judy immediately immersed herself in the community. Whether it was working at Hockey Opportunity Camp, curling, teaching skating or entertaining, she was always on the go. Her happy place was truly on the ice. She will be deeply missed by students (past and present) and many coaching friends, from over 40 years in the skating world. Judy had a fiery spirit that touched everyone with whom she crossed paths.
Judy leaves behind her devoted husband of almost 46 years, Gary; loving children Danette (Anthony) and Brandon; and her beloved grandchildren Cameron and Raelin, who will hold onto some very special memories with "Gramma." Summer trips to the lake, searching for the perfect Charlie Brown Christmas Tree, their first pair of skates and of course learning how to use them. She was the sister of Scott (Patricia) and aunt to nephew Doug. Sister-in-law to Nancy, Pat & Carolyn, Auntie to Brittany (Matt), Samantha (Andrew) and great Aunt to Emerson she will forever be in their hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family thanks you for your kindness, your condolences and your well wishes.
Arrangements are being handled privately with the family and have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Skate to Great would be sincerely appreciated by the family and may be made through the Opatovsky Funeral Home.
