JOHN WALLACE SMITH "Jack" Of Magnetawan Peacefully at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Saturday February 3, 2018. Jack Smith, beloved husband of Margie Bartlett, was in his 86th year. Father of Stephen (Paula) and Douglas (Cindy). Jack was a grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and is predeceased by his brother Glenn. He is the author of the Swiss Connection, a history of the Courvoisier and Brandt families in Canada and several other subsequent books. The family is sincerely appreciative of the all those who provided care for Jack, allowing him to remain in his home and also to the medical staff at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted in Chapman Cemetery in Magnetawan at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 27, 2018. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Almaguin Animal Rescue or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
