John James Murphy

Peacefully at home on Thursday October 17, 2024. John, beloved husband of the late Barbara was in his 95th year.

Dear father of Elaine Cryderman (Jim), Grant Murphy (Nancy), Heather Nelson (Guy). John is predeceased by his son Paul Murphy and son-in-law Rick Nelson.

Proud grandfather of Matthew, JJ, Andrew, Huy and Krista.

Great grandfather of Paige, Conner, Vanna, Lincoln, Kostyn, Harper, Leighna and Liam.

Survived by sister Pauline Purkis and predeceased by siblings: Edwin, Patrica, Joe and his parents Cecil and Christina Murphy.

John will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Wednesday October 23, 2024, from 4 to 7pm.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be conducted in the funeral home chapel commencing at 11am on Thursday October 24, 2024, with Pastor Don Nicholson officiating.

Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Sprucedale will follow.

If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
