MR. JOHN JOSEF HELMOND of Eagle Lake, South River Peacefully with his family by his side, in his home at Eagle Lake on Monday May 1, 2017 in his 78th year. John Helmond, beloved husband of Hedwig Helmond (nee Ginter). Dear father of Betty Anderson (Ted), Mary Ann Helmond (Garrick), Ben Helmond (Michelle), John Helmond (Val), Janet Helmond (David) and Dan Helmond (Wendy). Loving Grandpa of Laura, Jason, Kathryn, Sarah, Tyler, Becky, Christian, Evan, Annalise, Jessica, Amy, Erika, Trevor, Myckala and Great Grandpa of Royce, Ellie, Grace, Layla and Mace. Fondly remembered by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday May 5, 2017 from 1-3 and 6:30-8 P.M. Parish prayers will take place at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of the late Mr. John Helmond will be conducted at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in South River on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Martin Dalida officiating. Interment at Bow's Cemetery in Machar Township. If desired, memorial donations to Canadian Food for Children or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
