James Stewart Rowland
(August 19, 1956 - December 19, 2021)
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Jim Rowland. He went peacefully at home, Sunday morning, December 19th, in his 66th year.
Left to pick up the pieces is his beloved spouse and best friend, Karen Moody. Predeceased by his mother Adriana and step-mother Audrey. Survived by his father Stewart Charles, adored by his daughter Jamie (George), son Jonathan (Vanessa), step-son John (Jada), grandchildren Jaxon, Adelynne, Jordan (Kendra), Jenna (Zac). He will be missed by his younger brothers Terry (Teresa), Jeff (Brenda), Todd (Louise), Christopher (Mercedes), and his sister-in-law Sandy (Darcy), brother-in-law David (Ann). Jim will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
“Just Jim” also known as the Gazelle, the Boy Genius, and many other nicknames liked to spend time with his “Dad’s Girl”, a beautiful border collie named Darcie. He liked boating on the lake, perfecting the renovations of their cottage, and riding his new golf cart. He loved his job at the Hockey Opportunity Camp and took pride in his work wherever he went.
Jim will forever be in the hearts and memories of his lifetime friends Greg & Sue, his HOC family and Deer Lake community. As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge, Ontario.
