JIM McGILCHRIST of Kearney Suddenly at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday July 12, 2016. Jim McGilchrist, beloved husband of Gail, was in his 51st year. Dear father of Ryan (Sara) and Shawn (Heather). Loving son of Georgina "Maureen" and the late Donald McGilchrist. Dear brother of Sue Burfield (Barry) and brother in law of Diane Alfonso and Steve Williams (Lauralie). Beloved uncle of Christopher Burfield, Catherine Thompson (Brennon) and AJ Alfonso. Son in law of Barbara and the late Ron Williams. Jim will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his community spirit and volunteerism. Jim was a dedicated member of the Kearney Fire Department, serving as Captain. A service to celebrate Jim's life will be conducted the Kearney Community Centre, 8 Main Street in Kearney, Ontario, commencing at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday July 23, 2016 with David Woodall officiating. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls, Ontario.
