MR. JAMES ALAN CHAPMAN "FRED" or "CHAPPY" of Sundridge Peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and family at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Monday April 2, 2018 at the age of 80. Chappy was the beloved husband of Shirley Chapman (nee Ashbaugh). Loving father of Dave (Loretta), Don (Linda), Gord (Melody) and Richard (Jennifer). Proud papa of 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Cherished brother of Marie Jones (Russ), Joan Lafond (Dennis) and Linda Walters (Joe). Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Chappy enjoyed his many years on Pickerel Lake, especially when the family came to visit. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday April 6, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8 P.M. A private family service to celebrate Chappy's life will be conducted at the Pevensey Cemetery in Strong Township later in the spring. If desired, memorial donations to Childhood Cancer Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
