Helen Doreen (Clements) Maddeaux

Mrs. Helen Doreen Maddeaux of Burk’s Falls formerly of Nanaimo B.C. passed away peacefully at Algonquin Grace Hospice in Huntsville on Saturday, March 12, 2022, with her family by her side, Helen was in her 91st year.
Born in Toronto November 15, 1931, the daughter of Edith and Bob Clements. Beloved wife of the late Russell Maddeaux .
Cherished mother of Rob Yates (Brenda), Laurie Osborne (Jarv), Dave Yates and stepmother of Will Maddeaux (Shirley), Anna Cox (Merv), Patrick Maddeaux (Sharon), Joseph Maddeaux and predeceased by Rex Maddeaux and Charrie Glew.
Proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Helen loved to dance and was still teaching until 2020 in Nanaimo B.C. She loved her Toronto Blue Jays, quilting, sewing, knitting.  In her younger years she worked as a Bank Teller and later for two doctors in Toronto.
Helen and Russell married on September 10, 1971, they moved to Burk’s Falls in 1973 then to Huntsville where mom worked as a medical secretary for Dr. Lynn Sargeant.
Russell and Helen would travel out West in the summer months deciding to purchase a home in McBride BC and then later in Nanaimo BC.
The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street on Saturday April 23, 2022 from 12 to 1pm. A service to celebrate Helen’s life will follow in the chapel commencing at 1:00 p.m. with Doreen Mason DLM officiating.  Interment will take place later in St. John’s Norway Cemetery in Toronto.
