DR. GUNTHER GOHLICH Passed away peacefully in his 95th year on Friday July 11, 2014 at his home he shared in Toronto with his daughter Christel Gohlich. He will be remembered for his love and care of animals, his love of the outdoors and nature, his love of sailing which he developed in the Navy in WWII serving on the Uboats, his love and skill at playing cards and chess which he perfected during his time when he was held captive by the Yankee's as a POW. His kindness and generosity, sense of fairness, his honesty, his directness and for holding his own point of view on any subject he held close to his heart. He is missed by his children Helga Gohlich, Hans Gohlich, Angela Coombs and Christel Gohlich. His seven grandchildren: Sahrina Gohlich, Justin Gohlich and his wife Ashley Rae, Ethan Gohlich, Ryan Gohlich, and Tegan Gohlich, Morgan and Alannah Coombs, his dear friends Karl and Rosvita Kratowil and Brian McAteer, his great granddaughter Kailey The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Monday July 14, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Dr. Gohlich will follow in the chapel commencing at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Nicholson officiating. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
