MRS. GLORIA MARIE SALO (nee Roberts, Hooks) of Burk's Falls Peacefully at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Thursday January 2, 2014. Mrs. Gloria Salo, beloved wife of the late Igna Salo and the late Bremner Hooks, was in her 85th year. Dear mother of Robert (Janice) of Vermillion, Ohio and Ronald Hooks of Burk's Falls. Gloria is survived by her sister Bonnie Smith (Jim) of Port Orange, Florida and her brother Douglas Roberts of Grande Prairie, Alberta and will be fondly remembered by all of her friends and family. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Monday January 6, 2014 from 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Salo will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 7, 2014 with Reverend Les Drayer officiating. Spring interment of cremated remains in the Royston Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
