Gloria Johnston

Mrs. Gloria Linda J ohnston (nee Lewis) Passed away Monday January 18th, 2010 at the age of 63 at Huntsville Hospital. Gloria's four year journey with breast cancer ended peacefully with family by her side. Gloria was born November 14th, 1946 in St. Thomas Ontario and moved to Huntsville with her then husband Robert Johnston in 1969. Gloria and Bob had two children before separating in 1983. She worked for John Newell Chartered Accounting for 20 years and then The Greenwood Group for 5 years. Gloria and her partner of 16 years, Fred Cornwell, moved to Burks Falls in 2008. Gloria leaves behind partner Fred Cornwell, son Grant Johnston (Shaunna), daughter Stacy Johnston (Dana), step-son Mike Cornwell (Penny), step-daughter April Cornwell (Brian) and step-daughter Tania Cornwell (Mark). Gloria will be deeply missed by her sisters Geraldine Kikuta, Carol McIntosh, and step-brother Marty Lewis. Much loved by grandchildren Hayden and Rylie Johnston, Melina and Aleea Cornwell, Ashley and Kyle MacLellan and Matthew and Bradley Bureau. Gloria was predeceased by her father Thomas Lewis and brothers-in-law Mas Kikuta and George Cornwell. She will be fondly remembered by many, many family members and friends. To celebrate Gloria's life a public memorial open house will be held on February 6th 2010 at Chaffey Hall from 1-4pm in Huntsville. Dress casually and bring your sense of humour and stories to share about Gloria. In lieu of flowers, Gloria's wish was to have donations made to Hospice Huntsville. She touched many lives and her absence leaves a hole that can never be filled.
