Eric Nylund

November 2, 1937 — December 4, 2021

formerly of Burk's Falls and Sundridge

In loving memory of Eric Richard Nylund, (84), who was called home to be with his Savior on December 4, 2021.

He was born to the late Nils and Grace Nylund, November 2, 1937.

Beloved husband of Annie (nee Stone) (Person) for 45 years, most of which were “up north” in the Burk’s Falls and Sundridge area.

Loving Step Father to David (Patsy) Person of Newton Kansas, Linda (Hugh) Henderson of Hagersville, Bonnie (William 2018) Gore of Burlington, Yvonne (Blain) Racette of Dowling, and Michele Hetman of Hamilton.

He loved being a wonderful and playful Grandfather to his 9 Grandkids and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Eric will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephew. Nephews Ivan (Anita) and Daniel (Banesa) both of Huntsville, and their children, held a special place in his heart.

Eric leaves his favorite and only sister Ilee (Gerald 2019) Maw and is predeceased by his brothers Olaff (Bev) Nylund and Runard (Betty).

Eric was a Northerner, loving the land and working hard with his hands, chopping wood, shoveling snow and driving tractor. He loved the bush. He loved to joke around and he loved to share stories of his past. He held his Class A Auto Mechanics license until his retirement, always appreciative of the jobs he held and the people he worked with at Fetterley’s Garage, Leigh’s Garage in Emsdale and Anderson’s Windows in Sundridge. He and Annie worshiped at Chetwynd Community Church “back of Burk’s Falls” for many years, loving and being loved by their church family and community. Eric often stated his love and affection for his wonderful wife and partner Annie. They sold their home in Sundridge and began a new adventure at Parkview Meadows Christian Retirement Village in Townsend in 2010.

The family thanks all the caring staff of Grandview Lodge, Dunnville, especially the nurses and PSW’s in Creekview, for their commitment to care for Eric. In lieu of flowers, donations for research to combat Alzheimer’s disease would be appreciated by the family.

Private Interment will take place at a later date at Sand Lake Pioneer Log Church Cemetery, Kearney.
