MRS. ELVA CAROLINE MERRY Of Sundridge Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Eastholme in Powassan on Monday May 30, 2016 in her 97th year. Elva Merry (nee Snow), beloved wife of the late Alge Merry. Loving mother of Frank Merry (Lana), Gordon Merry (Joye) and Dianne Merry-Brooks (Wayne). Cherished grandmother of Sean Merry (Tara), Kristian Merry, Alge Merry (Gina), Cameron Merry, Liza De Quetteville (Miles), Deric Morrison (Ida), Diana Vincer (Doug) and great grandmother of Rayne, Easton, Brooklyn, Julianna, Aidan, James, Eric and Emma. Predeceased by sisters Mabel "Sue" Smith (late Angus), Margaret Percival (late Charlie) and brother Wilf Snow (late Terry). Fondly remembered by her step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge on Friday June 3, 2016 from 1-3 and 6-8 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Elva Merry will be conducted at Zion United Church on Main Street in Sundridge on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Kathleen McCallum officiating. Interment at the Strong Cemetery in Sundridge. If desired, memorial donations to Zion United Church, Crohn's and Colitis Canada, Lupus Ontario or the Diabetes Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
