MR. ELMER JOHN HEITTOLA of Emsdale Peacefully at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Thursday April 2, 2015 at the age of 79. Mr. Elmer Heittola, beloved husband of Annie Heittola (nee Appleyard). Dear father of Ronald Heittola (Norma), Donna Weigl (late Frank), Roger Heittola and Carl Heittola (Donna). Loving grandfather of Angela Heittola (Matthew McNally), Karen Clarke (Len), Rachel Heittola, Matthew Heittola and great grandfather of Abigail, Noah, Nathaniel, Maylea, Jacob, Benjamin, Amber Sky and Nicholas. Cherished brother of Betty Carrier (Bert), Faye Nelson (Lloyd), Kenny Heittola (Janine) and predeceased by parents Harvey and Phyllis Heittola and brother Don Heittola. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Thursday April 23, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Heittola will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday April 23, 2015 with Reverend Richard McQuillin officiating Spring interment at the Emsdale United Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
