MR. EDWARD C. BROOKS Of Sundridge W.W. II Veteran Peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in his 87th year. Edward Raaflaub, dear brother of Oliver (Ina) Brooks of North Bay, Wayne (Betty) Brooks of Loring, Shirley (Burt) Schmidt-Gollop of South River, Maynard (Jeananne) Brooks of Sundridge, Audrey (Larry) Empey-Clarke of Alberta, Beverly (Peter) Schneider of Sundridge, the late Lois Carpenter and brother-in-law of Ray Carpenter of South River. Also survived by Fred "Bud", Dorothy, Vern and Carole. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends in the area. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street, Sundridge on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 7-9 P.M. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mr. Raaflaub will be conducted in the chapel on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Steve Ramsay officiating. Interment at Strong Cemetery, Sundridge, Ontario. If desired, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
