MRS. DORIS CECILE MARY LAKING of Burk's Falls Peacefully at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Sunday January 15, 2017 in her 92nd year. Doris Laking (nee Desjardins), beloved wife of Jack Laking. Dear mother of Bob Laking, Al Laking (Verna) and Elaine Laking (Dennis Akerley). Loving grandma of Vanessa Poxleitner (Gary), Jason Remeikis, Jessica Krueger-Decker (Frank), Brad Laking (Allison) and great grandmother of Josiah, Rebekah, Jonah, Jack and Lily. Cherished sister of Elaine, Donald "Butch" and Myrna. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home - Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. A service to celebrate the life of the late Mrs. Doris Laking will follow in the chapel at 12:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
