DOREEN SWAN Of Manhattan, New York City Doreen's death occurred at the Amsterdam Nursing Home in New York City on Thursday August 8, 2013. Doreen Swan, cherished sister of Jennifer Furtney (late Albert) of Burk's Falls. Dear aunt of George D.K. Furtney (Tara) and great aunt of Lennon P.S. Furtney. Predeceased by her parents James and Mattie Swan and her step father Dennis Stokoe. Doreen was a professor at the New York University and a devoted member of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. Doreen will be remembered for her sense of humour and generosity of spirit. Arrangements for the late Doreen Swan are being handled privately with the family and have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls.
