COLLEEN MARY SMITH Of Sprucedale Peacefully surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer, at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at the age of 70. Colleen Smith (nee Downs), loving mom of Sean Smith (Connie) and Shannon Smith (Ron AKA Poopie). Proud nana of grandchildren Elicia, Greg, Ryan, Kyle, Kris, Alyssa and great grandchildren Chloe, Mykenna, T.J., Jenna and Jake. Cherished daughter of Thelma and the late Gregg Downs; sister of Cathy Jenkins (Jim), John Downs (Cathy) and Richard Downs (Jan). Dear aunt of Matt, Nick (Tad), Gabby, Bradley, Jennifer, Kim, Scott, Mike and Megan. Colleen will be missed by her four legged companion; Parker and will be fondly remembered by all of her family and friends. The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk's Falls on Saturday January 20, 2018 from 12 to 1 p.m. A service to celebrate Colleen's life will follow in the chapel commencing at 1:00 p.m. with David Woodall officiating. Family will also receive visitors at the Sprucedale Community Center on Saturday January 20, 2018 from 3-5 P.M. If desired, memorial donations to Ovarian Cancer Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
