Alan Edmund Clark husband of Diana May nee Currie, son of the late Edmund and Margaret Clark formerly of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour August 20 at 1 AM at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 82 years old. Alan along with his wife Diana over the last 60 years have resided in the following locations Sault Ste. Marie, Dryden, Echo Bay, Kenora and Kapuskasing along with seasonal residence in South River Ontario and from 2004 until December 2023 in, El Salvador, Central America. Alan left Algona Steel in 1967 and took a position as shop foreman at Prouse Motors Dealership in Sault Ste. Marie. In 1968 Alan returned to formal education and received a teacher certificate and accepted his teaching position in Dryden Ontario. He later taught at Central Algoma High School and then in Kenora with Beaver Bray Secondary School where he taught until he retired in the spring of 1999. Alan and Diana were married on April 4, 1964, and had just celebrated 60 years together. Alan leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Diana, three children and five grandchildren, father to Glenda (husband, David Mostow) Gregory (wife Connie), Jeremy (wife Jennie) grandfather of Kae Mostow (partner Dylan), Hannah Mostow, Briana Clark, Justin (wife Christie), Jenna Clark (fiancé Charles). Alan is survived by his sisters Shirley Clark (Ross), Janice Gardiner (Ben).
Alan’s life was guided and directed by the Lord following his conversion at the age of 12 years old. He then recognized that the Lord Jesus had died for his sins and accepted that for himself and received the promise and assurance of eternal life.
The family will receive visitors at Chapman Valley Gospel Hall, 9 Miller Road, Sundridge on Friday August 23, 2024, from 6 pm to 9 pm. (corner of Hwy 124 and Miller Road). A service to celebrate Alan’s life will be conducted in church the following day; Saturday August 24, 2024, commencing at 1:00 pm. Interment in the Chapman Cemetery will follow. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Moore Chapel, 9 Paget Street in Sundridge.
